Happy Friday, all! Today’s temperature is nice, cool and comfortable. Which kinda feels like Fall to me, and that makes my heart very happy 😀 . We’ve been experiencing quite the heat wave, so it’s nice to have today to kind of break it up!
Last Sunday we were able to have some ‘maternity’ – like pictures taken. This was such a blessing, as it was a free “Thank you” gift from our real estate agent. We already have maternity pictures booked for the Fall (fave season – remember?! 😉 ) and so we got these professional photos taken for a gender reveal instead! It worked out SO well, as I had been wracking my brain trying to think of a gender reveal idea. We had intentions of having a party, but when you live 3ish hours away from your family and close friends, it can prove difficult for narrowing down a party location!! So this was a great alternative and we’re so happy with the results of the shoot! Melissa from Paper Reflections was so sweet and made us feel very comfortable. She was great to work with!!
We were able to come down to visit our parents again and hand deliver a photo collage ‘reveal’ to them, as well as our siblings. We mailed the rest to our extended family and friends. Here are just some of my favourite shots:
The shoot was really lots of fun and I’m glad we did it! We met up with the photographer at a former railway station that used to be Ontario’s Grand Trunk Railway. It was a cool place that a friend of mine recommended, which none of us had been to before. It has a museum there, along with a steam locomotive, a restored wooden caboose, and 2 steel ones. I kept my outfit simple, with just a floral dress (and nails to match, of course 😉 ) and picked out a matching polo shirt for Matt to wear. So, we were both quite comfortable. I also brought a couple props along – the ‘K’ for our last name, my antique steamer trunk, a suitcase, and baby shoes and a onesie (for the gender reveal)!
I was so happy for this experience and with the way the pictures turned out. What a neat way to share the news of our baby with loved ones. Looking forward to sharing the gender with you as soon as all our family and friends get their picture in the mail!
